The Technical Secretariat of the Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC) shall be formed and chaired by Eng. Waleed Zakaria, which undertakes the following functions:

• Performs all technical works and studies requested by the Council and its Executive Bureau.
• Forms a department for the national information and software systems in cybersecurity and a department for information and communications systems crises and a technical committee to follow up on the security of government portals and websites.
• Organizes and launches periodic national campaigns to introduce the risks of cybersecurity hackings in various sectors.
• Organizes workshops and courses to raise awareness on cybersecurity at the sectoral level.
• Prepares the specifications of safe and secure exchange of information related to securing the critical communications and information infrastructures.
