No. 2259 of 2014

The Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC) shall be established, chaired by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and with the membership of the Ministries of (Defense, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Electricity and Renewable Energy, Health and Population, Water Resources and Irrigation, Supply and Internal Trade, Communications and Information Technology, the General Intelligence Service Agency, the Central Bank of Egypt, in addition to three experts from the research entities and private sector to be nominated by the Council and appointed as per a Decree to be issued by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

The Council shall also develop a national strategy to face and respond to the cyber threats and attacks and oversee its implementation and update. The Council members shall review its mandates and functions and shall form an Executive Technical Secretariat affiliated thereto.
